Fundamentals of Non-Mass Selective Detectors
This module will review the non-mass selective detectors that are generally used in gas chromatographic and liquid chromatographic analysis performed in forensic toxicology laboratories. The gas chromatography detectors that this course covers are Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD), Flame Ionization Detector (FID), Electronic Capture Detector (ECD) and Nitrogen Phosphorous Detector (NPD). The liquid chromatography detector that will be reviewed is the UV-Vis Spectrophotometry Detector. The course is designed to provide information for associated professionals who do not necessarily run instrumentation directly but need information about the technologies.
